Murphy
COURTESY POST: Murphy is a 15 month old American Bulldog/Pit bull mix who is full of love and kisses. His tail never stops wagging as he meets new friends! He is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and has no known health issues.
Murphy came to a high-intake county shelter as an unclaimed stray. He was a volunteer favorite! He rides well in vehicles, too so he was taken to several offsite adoption shows where he proved to be terrific with other dogs and charming with visitors. He met some children at these shows and was fine with them, but his activity level may be too much for a home with young kids. It is uncertain how he would behave around cats, but he’d probably be too much and tend to chase them.
Teaching Murphy commands shouldn’t be too hard. He already knows sit and down, and he is on his way in learning to drop his toy in exchange for a treat. Smart boy!Although he is young and still working on his puppy manners, he responds very well to training commands and will need a family committed to continuing his training.
Murphy would love an active, dog-savvy family – maybe with a friendly, equally playful dog in the home and a fenced yard for lots of exercise. He’ll need a family who will give him the mental and physical exercise he needs along with boundaries and stability to help him be the shining star we know he is!
