Peppa (aka Badabucci)

Peppa (aka, Badabucci), a 4-5 year old merle pittie/bulldog mix, is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. She has a happy-go-lucky personality and just bounces through her day with a big smile and "joie de vivre" attitude. Not surprisingly, she unwittingly attracts fans wherever she goes. As her vet says, "She is just a phenomenal dog. Simply lovely."

This charming girl can be a little wobbly, typically on a decline like steps or when she is super excited and bouncy. While it doesn't bother her one bit, we wanted to understand the cause and if her balance could be improved. After lots of doctors, specialists, an MRI and a spinal tap, it turns out she was simply born this way. Perfect. The good news is that it is not progressive, does not require medication, and won't cause her future issues. Peppa is what she is: moderately special needs and super-duper special.

Peppa loves other dogs and plays nicely with them. She likes to follow her foster brother's lead but ignores him when he is grumpy. She doesn't have time for bad vibes! Peppa is all about enjoying what's in front of her and making the most of absolutely everything. She loves people across the board, especially when they give her belly rubs. She explodes with the joy of a kid on Christmas, at least twice each day: breakfast and dinner. Her toys are adored and she will happily prance during walks carrying one in her mouth (often, a stick will do). She knows "sit," "stay," "paw" and "no," of course. She is crate and house trained. Peppa is eager to please and guaranteed to make you smile... every day.

While her equilibrium "challenges" show themselves when she is super excited or going down an incline, such as steps, she walks perfectly without issue on sideways and mellow trails. She navigates the three steps at her foster home well and doesn't go to the second floor. To be safe, she requires a little harness help to get down more than a few steps and we keep a close eye if she has more than a few steps to climb. We don't want her to take a tumble and hurt herself!

Peppa is an amazing and joyous little dog (60lbs). She is as loyal as the day is long and the definition of happy, which is contagious. Do you think Peppa might be a fit for your family? She would love to meet you.💜
